Common Noun
Definition: The common noun is name of several persons (As woman, man, boy, girl or child) or it is name of several animals (As cow, horse or lion) or it is name of several birds (As crow, parrot or cock etc.) or it is name of several places (As house, mosque or shop). The common noun is either singulars or plurals. It can be either masculine or feminine.
Note: it is usually stared with small letter. When we will start a common noun with a capital letter, it will come in beginning of the sentence.
Example
- Lion killed the stage.
- The man has bought a new car
Proper Noun
Definition: It is a special name of particular persons (As Mark or Laura etc.) Or it is a special name of particular place (As Saudi Arabia, New York etc.) or it is a special name of particular things (As days of the week, month of the years, or even the title of books or TV shows.
Example
- Karachi
- England
- Mark gave his brother a present on his birthday.
Note if it consist of two or more words, (As United States of America) each word will start with capital letter.
Collective Noun
Definition: The collective noun is a collation of several persons (As army or team) or it is a collation of several places (As town or bazaar)or it is a collation or several things (As library or dozen)
Note: it is usually stared with small letter. When we will start a common noun with a capital letter, it will come in beginning of the sentence.
Example
- Saifullah bought a dozen eggs form the bazaar
- Armies fought vary bravely against the enemies.
Material Noun
Definition: It is a name of such as things, form which can be made a lot of things.(As iron, wood, cotton or milk)
Note: it is usually stared with small letter. When we will start a common noun with a capital letter, it will come in beginning of the sentence.
Example
- We buy two letters milk ever day.
- Iron is a useful metal
Abstract Noun
Definition: Abstract nouns form what can be the most difficult group to understand, as they represent ideas, and have no physical substance that you can see or touch. The idea may be of quality, for example: beauty, greed, intelligence or the idea may be a state that is felt or suffered, for example: joy, misery, neglect. It may be the act of something, for example: duty, aggression. It may even be an event or happening, for example: conversation, pause.
Note: it is usually stared with small letter. When we will start a common noun with a capital letter, it will come in beginning of the sentence.
